Atria Hearthstone’s west building one of only ten deficiency-free assisted living communities in the state
Topeka, Kan., January 22, 2010 --- Atria Hearthstone’s west building, a local independent and assisted living community, was recently recognized for completing a deficiency-free third quarter by the Kansas Department on Aging (KDOA).
Atria is one of only ten assisted living facilities in the state that received recognition for a deficiency-free third quarter. A deficiency could be issued for anything from a safety issue or missed medication to a paperwork error. All assisted living facilities in Kansas are surveyed by the KDOA on an annual basis.
“We are proud to be recognized for this highest standard of quality in our community,” said Jared Holroyd, Senior Executive Director at Atria Hearthstone. “Our employees work very hard to provide the best care and best home possible for our residents. Atria’s Quality Enhancement reviews ensure that our community operates at the highest of standards every day.”
All Atria communities are subjected to biannual unannounced Quality Enhancement (QE) reviews by tenured industry professionals. Each QE review checks more than 700 items in the community, including care, food preparation, maintenance, activity programming, and resident satisfaction. Often times Atria’s comprehensive QE requirements exceed state mandates.
Jodi Masters, Resident Services Director at Atria Hearthstone’s west building, oversees the community’s care department. She also credits Atria’s stringent QE standards and staff diligence for their deficiency-free operations.
“The combination of our strict care standards and our dedicated staff means our residents receive the best care possible,” said Masters. “It is an honor to be recognized for the work we do every day.”
