Atria Springdale resident Joan Howard was surprised to pass a familiar face in the hallway. Even though she hadn’t seen the face in over 50 years, she recognized Atria Springdale’s newest resident as her former first grade teacher and the woman who taught her how to read and write. WHAS 11 caught up with the ladies during National Teacher’s Appreciation Week to learn about their happy reunion and the impact that teachers really have on students.
