Atria Kew Gardens celebrates 101 years

Kew Gardens, NY – On Sunday, March 16 at 3 pm, Atria Kew Gardens will celebrate the 101st birthday of resident Thea Hochstadter with a party for the entire community.

The event will include live entertainment by singer Diana Templeton, who will perform a show appropriately entitled, “Everything Old is New Again”; and, of course, there will be plenty of delicious birthday cake for everyone.

Hochstadter is known to many at Atria as “the computer lady”, since she can usually be found making the most of 21st century technology at Atria's resident internet computer station.

“All of us are delighted to honor Hochstadter on this occasion,” said Marty Ingber, Engage Life Director at Atria Kew Gardens. “We offer her our very best wishes for continued good health, as well as for many happy returns of the day.”

Atria Senior Living Group, the nation’s fourth largest assisted living owner-operator, provides respectful, quality care that helps more than 14,000 older people live life to the fullest. Atria communities are not nursing homes; rather, they are active communities where seniors can get the care they need to live as independently as possible. At the heart of Atria’s approach is our belief that superior care depends on running a superior business. That’s why Atria has developed some of the industry’s most stringent measurement tools and comprehensive training protocols. To learn more, log onto www.atriaseniorliving.com.

I love the joy of the people who live here, as well as the warmth of the friendships that I have developed. I also love that there are still programs and occasions that I have not yet experienced. Fresh air, friends and exercise – what more could you ask for?
