My wife and I had a blessed, long, happy marriage. When she passed away, I was dumbfounded and withdrew from all social contact. This lasted for a few weeks until the Engage Life Director at Atria Carrollton where I live had a long talk with me. She said that I still had a life to live, and that I should participate in some of the activities offered here. She listed the multitude of things I could do, from excursions to games. She convinced me, and I have participated in several of them. It’s been three years, and I have made new friends.
The talk with the Engage Life Director that day—and the encouragement I get from Atria staff every day—is a highlight of my life. It keeps me going.
